Fiona Porter" looks at how identity shifts and splinters in the age of constant connectivity. As the internet becomes a second skin, we slip in and out of roles — some intentional, some accidental. Online, we aren’t limited by how we look or sound. We can edit, erase, perform, or completely invent ourselves.For this work, I deliberately built several fake female personas. Using both real images and AI-generated figures, I pieced together digital collages that echo the emotional states I experienced while interacting with others behind these invented identities. Each figure became a kind of stand-in — a filter through which I could say or feel things I might not have otherwise.This project isn’t about hiding — it’s about testing the edges of who we are when no one knows who’s really speaking. In a world where face and voice can be copied, coded, or faked, the idea of a “real self” starts to blur. Maybe we aren’t just one version of ourselves. Maybe we’re all the versions we’ve ever tried on.
